The Patriot Act passed, coming as a shock to optimists and a shrug to pessimists around the country. We know it and we don't really like it, but we do have to follow it, right? Right. But you don't have to go overboard. When you follow something in the name of the Patriot Act, make sure it's actually required by it. Remember, requiring something based on an Act that doesn't require it is misrepresentation and fraud, and here's a great bit about what one person did about it.

You know, I wasn't going to write about this but really I feel bad about not finding anything better. So I'll just tell you all what every other blog and news site has told you all day. John Kerry has chosen John Edwards as his running mate. They are now John Squared.

I'm sorry I haven't been writing much lately. Life has been hectic enough that writing has become uncommon.

That said, here is an interesting article about how Steve Jobs of Apple is advising Senator John Kerry about economic issues. I really wish I had more to say about it, but I just don't have much to say lately.

This is appalling. Really. Ever get the feeling that an anti-republican ad this bad might have been placed by a republican to make democrats look bad? Any way you twist it, media attention like this is bad news. But hey, the candidates et al condemned it and they deserve credit for that.

Which is probably a good thing, when you think about it. But my favorite part of this article is where he says he upholds the beliefs of Abraham Lincoln and thinks Bush deserves re-election. Bush. Mr. Anti-Equal-Rights. Yeah. Pay attention to what you're supporting, Senator.

What have you done this time? George W Bush has now accused Cuba of having biological weapons. George, let me read you a bed time story. It's a fable. The boy who cried wolf. Ever hear of it?

So John Kerry is going to run against George W Bush, right? Remember that time President Bush nearly died from a pretzel? Well apparently Senator Kerry needs shoulder surgery because his bus stopped short. Isn't that cool? Apparently this is a new trend. Presidents who die easily.

Haven't we been through this? Haven't we taken this to court a hundred times over? No prayer in public schools. No. Bad principal, no donut! And yet here I sit, reading about an investigation to take place because some lady decided to pass out a prayer, with bad spelling and grammar, to her students that goes so far as to call tests the students' enemies.

Well, I always say, if you're going to screw up, screw up right.

Now I ordinarily don't buy into things like this. I also ordinarily don't write about politics. But this is too good to pass up. The most recent place I've seen this reported is here.

Apparently a terrorist group called Abu Hafs al-Masri has claimed responsibility for spain, and furthermore has endorsed George W. Bush for reelection.

Excerp from the article: The statement tells American voters that Abu Hafs al-Masri supports the re-election campaign of U.S. President George W. Bush: "We are very keen that Bush does not lose the upcoming elections."

Addressing Bush, it says: "We know that a heavyweight operation would destroy your government, and this is what we don't want. We are not going to find a bigger idiot than you."

So this just begs one question: If Bush is reelected, do the terrorists win?

Blog for America has a new design. You'll notice the icon, "Democracy for America," up top. This is the name of the new organization being launched by Howard Dean. I'm proud to say I'm a part of it. Of course, I have to say that it's a hit to the old ego, all be it a minor one, to see Blog for America redesigned and no longer using all the work I did. But my work lasted for a good year and this is a new world. I imagine I'll be sticking my hands in he code of this thing at some point anyhow.

Today in Seattle at 9:30 am pacific, 12:30 am eastern, Governor Dean will speak in the Cascade Ballroom of the Westin Hotel. The hotel is located at 1900 5th Avenue, Seattle, Washington. I would encourage all in the area to attend. This is going to be a special appearance, one that you wouldn't want to miss if you can help it.
