I'm also a huge fan of Zipcar -- I've been a member for about 5 years. It sounds like Brookline gets very anxious about anything having to do with parking! I live in Arlington, where there's parking to spare, and most residents seem oblivious to Zipcar's existence.

And as far as Zipcar attracting noisy drivers.... what? I wouldn't exactly cast Zipcar drivers as a reckless, inconsiderate lot. It takes a lot of responsibility to return those cars on time!

Your hesitation is certainly understandable, but you should know that in addition to plain text output, you can print your 1Password data to an encrypted PDF. Our data file format, while proprietary, is not intended to be closed in the long-term and is based on the OS X keychain itself. The application .ipa files have the iTunes account that purchased them embedded in them. You must authorize your computer with that account. That's not something you'd be able to do (I would not share my account info with anyone).

Same thing happened to me, I've been asking everyone if they have a copy of Yelp 3.0.1.ipa, which is the previous version that works with 3.0.x of the iPhone OS.

If you can find someone that hasn't upgraded yet, they should still have it on their machine and you can just drag-and-drop it into your iTunes.

If you find anything, please post, and spread the word, I used yelp more than any other application!

This solution may or may not be temporary, but I'm sure it is long term. Google is pretty focused on other products, and I doubt they'll go changing this on us any time soon. The fact remains, though, that this workaround is exactly that; we are using the product in a way that was not intended and, as such, it might shut off.

As to setting up an SPF record in your domain, I'm afraid I cannot help you. This entirely depends on who hosts DNS for you. For example, Godaddy has an SPF section within their Total DNS Control panel. Since this is a domain that you do not personally own, however, you'll have no control over it at all. You'll have to approach your IT department for help. They may be willing to assist you with your situation by providing you with other workarounds as well.

For me, this workaround is a way of using gMail without spending the money on Google's domain tools as I'm really my only user.

Per 1: Can you explain how to do this? I use Gmail as my main email, and my work email is done through a limited web version of Outlook.

I'm glad the workaround helped you. To answer your questions:

1. No, I have not noticed any issues with my mail being marked as spam. That said, one sure way to eliminate this risk is to add an SPF record to your domain's DNS saying that gMail's SMTP server is authorized to send mail for your domain.

2. The default setting for gMail is to add a Sender header to outgoing messages in order to mitigate address spoofing. It is there so that, if someone uses an address inappropriately, their mail can be tracked to the gMail account that sent it. Some clients use this header to create the On Behalf Of segment.

The workaround gMail provided is designed for users who have their own SMTP servers. They want us to send mail through our own, fully authorized, SMTP servers. In doing so, we transfer responsibility to the SMTP server we're using and gMail doesn't need to add that header anymore. Using gMail's own SMTP server is kind of a dirty trick, and I'm certain they did not intend for it to be done. The real question is if / when they will disable this.

I just tried this workaround, and it seems to solve my gmail/work email issues. Since you started using it, have you noticed any issues with with your Gmail-SMTP-routed-mail being marked as spam?

Out of curiosity, why would they leave the "on behalf of" for the default setting but not the custom version? Aren't they the same thing? I'm not a techie guy...
